General Motors introduced an all-new generation of its full-size luxury SUV, the 2021 Cadillac Escalade earlier this year which will go on sale shortly.

The Escalade is built on a new platform, and its slightly more generous dimensions allow for a more spacious interior. Passengers in the third row enjoy more legroom, and in the long-wheelbase variant, the cargo area has increased by 68% when all seats are occupied. In addition, the vehicle floor is lower thanks to the adoption of an independent rear suspension, which also improves handling.

Standard in the 2021 Cadillac Escalade is the rugged 6.2-litre V8 engine producing 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque, mated to a ten-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive. In 2021, we can also opt for a six-cylinder turbodiesel with 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque.

The cabin features new technologies, including a 38-inch curved OLED display and AKG 36-speaker audio system, two firsts in the industry. The Escalade also features an upgraded version of GM's Super Cruise semi-autonomous driver assistance system. The SUV will be more comfortable than ever, thanks to a new air suspension and magnetic dampers.

The 2021 Cadillac Escalade is available in regular and extended wheelbase ESV trims, with Luxe, Premium Luxe, Sport and Platinum trims.

2026 Escalade IQ Battery and Range Guide: Getting 748 km of Luxury Without the Fuel Bill

The 2026 Cadillac ESCALADE IQ carries a battery pack that, by most measures, is unlike anything else in the full-size SUV segment. With over 200 kWh of usable energy, it offers a Cadillac-estimated 748 km of range on a full charge. That number matters for a specific reason: it addresses one of the most common questions about large luxury EVs, which is whether they can cover serious distance...
